The International Cultural Property Society is a nonprofit public benefit corporation incorporated under Californian law in 1990. It was founded by the late Professor John Henry Merryman. The Society’s purpose is the ‘disinterested promotion of scholarship on cultural property’. This objective is realised through the International Journal of Cultural Property published by Cambridge University Press, the annual Lalive & Merryman fellowship, and occasional conferences and events.
The Society’s foundation directors were J H Merryman, Stefano Rodota, N E Palmer, H Ganslmayr, and D Tomkin.
